Lakewood's First Silent Disco Lands at Belmar Plaza

Lakewood is about to get its very first silent disco, and CiferNoise is behind the headphones. Teaming up with Alameda Connects and the Alameda Corridor BID, we're turning Belmar Plaza into a glowing, wireless dance floor for one night only, and everyone in the neighborhood is invited.

Disco-ver Alameda: The Details

Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 6, from 8:00–10:00 PM at Belmar Plaza. The silent disco kicks off right after the Belmar Street Fest concert wraps, so the plaza stays alive long after the last song on stage ends. Admission is completely free, there's no age restriction, and parking is free too.

Three Channels, Three Vibes, One Dance Floor

What makes this night special is the range. Two DJs will spin three simultaneous audio channels, each one built for a different generation on the plaza:

🎶 The Classics — timeless tracks for grandparents to groove to
🎶 Throwback Anthems — nostalgic hits for parents reliving their favorite eras
🎶 Modern Beats — today's biggest songs for the youngest dancers

"Grandma on Channel 1. Mom and dad on Channel 2. The kids on Channel 3. Same plaza, same night, everyone dancing to their own beat."

Guests just tap a button on the headset to switch channels, with glowing LEDs showing which one they're tuned into. If you've never seen a silent disco before, this is the moment: a plaza full of people dancing to completely different songs, all in perfect sync with each other.

Only 200 Headsets Available

Headsets are first come, first served, and only 200 are available for the night. RSVP in advance and show your QR code at the plaza to guarantee a headset until 8:15 PM. After that, remaining headsets go to walk-ups. Can't make it after all? Please cancel your RSVP digitally so someone else can grab your spot.

A New Kind of Community Night

Silent discos have long been a festival and wedding favorite, but bringing the format to a public plaza for a free, all-ages community event is new territory, and exactly the kind of unconventional application CiferNoise loves. For Alameda Connects and the Alameda Corridor BID, it's a fresh way to activate Belmar Plaza and give neighbors another reason to stick around downtown after the concert ends.
